PCD ASSOCIATES: ARCHITECTURAL EXHIBITION 8TH TO 11TH JUNE 2015 ‘25 YEARS OF ARCHITECTURAL EXCELLENCE’
The firm PCD Associates was registered on 22nd May 1990 as a firm of Architects, Consultants and Project Managers.
The mission of PCD Associates from inception was to be a solution provider by creating the appropriate 3 dimension spaces that meets the human need – for a convenient and comfortable habitation.
Based on the mission, it became necessary to establish an appropriate link with individual and the community for an effective solution. The result is shown in our numerous works over the years.
ARCHITECTURE
Architecture as defined by one of America’s Greatest Architects ‘Frank Lloyd Wright’ is “No, I know that Architecture is life; or at least it is life itself taking form and therefore it is the truest record of life as it was lived in the world yesterday, as it is lived today or ever will be lived. So Architecture I know to be a Great Spirit”-
‘Architecture, that great living creative spirit which from generation to generation, from age to age, proceeds, persists, creates, according to the nature of man, and his circumstances as they change.
That is really architecture”.

My father of blessed memory who died at the age of 93 years said to me one day, ‘By your hard work you shall become known and you will then become famous in time’.
We at PCD Associates see Architecture as the ultimate solution to all forms of human need.
Accordingly, a good Architectural solution tends to provide the best and most futuristic human society.
There are Architects, and there are Architects of Architects.
So who is your Architect?
The choice of an Architect will depend on your need and your understanding of the Architect capable of providing the appropriate solution to reach your ultimate habitation goal.
THE PRACTICE
PCD Associates in their 25 years of practice always made conscious effort to understand all of their clients’ needs within the limitations of the diverse economic and environmental circumstances and provide solutions considered most appropriate.
I wish to recall the statement of a former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Honourable Justice Belgore at the commissioning of the FCT High Court Complex in maitama in October 2006,
‘This is a masterpiece of Architecture, the best High court in Africa and Comparable with any other High court in the world’.
Also, a former President and commander-in-chief of the Armed forces, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, commented at the commissioning of the Nigerian Prisons Headquarters; said that “This building will change the status of our Prisons officials and how Prison administration is done forever”.
PCD Associates has developed and is currently developing numerous projects including a Communication Institute, one of 6 number in the world not limited to NCC/Digital Bridge Institute permanent site, Benchers Hall, the biggest Auditorium and Conference Facility in Africa comprising of 3000 seating capacity auditorium, several multi-purpose halls to meet the client’s ultimate goal and other needs.
All of our projects are developed on a sustainable basis, so that they offer a stream of both operating and continual maintenance cost effectiveness.
To save time, I invite you to view all our numerous other projects at the exhibition when it has been opened today and before the exhibition closes.
PCD as a corporate citizen has also developed human enhancement schemes with a view towards creating models for slum transformation. The transformation is part of what we are now enjoying.
This is the case of Parkland Golf Resort Club which was once a dump site and considered a waste land. For the records, the 2012 IFLA/SLAN Conference held in Nigeria Jointly reviewed this project following which it was listed as one of the few Biophilic sites in the world.
PCD Associates has also developed other HEP – Human enhancement projects through the application of the Enviro-loo, a waterless for operation toilet system invented in South Africa by Dr Brian as a major component.
This has been well applied in the Nigerian Prisons; and educational institutions and public utilities like Abubarkar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi; ABU e.t.c.
Furthermore, we have now concluded the promotional strategy to encourage golfing as a Sport in our Junior schools to complement the proper development of our youths for all the associated benefits derivable from the game of golf.
PCD Associates has been creating working systems which in our opinion will continue to promote good human living.
GENERAL OPERATING PRINCIPLE
All of the above are realised through our main asset, the personnel of PCD Associates, who are well trained through continuous development programmes as organised by the firm.
It is also of interest to know that the firm hitherto setup on first principles basis is now fully structured and will continue to operate in accordance with international best practice.
Whereas, all of our personnel can grow diligently to highest possible level within the organization; as an associate or director with interest in the affairs of the firm.
We shall be recognizing some of our personnel precisely 4 number Architects who have been considered with excellent grades by the Regulatory bodies of Architects (Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) & Architects Registration council of Nigeria (ARCON).
CONCLUSION AND THE EXHIBITIONS
Finally, we would like to seize this opportunity to thank all of our esteemed clients over the years who have enabled us to record over 725 marked projects, some of which have since been concluded and are serving the purposes for which they were intended for, others are at various stages of completion.
Our allied associates, we appreciate you. The various contractors who transform our lines and thoughts through our transfixed eyes with most cooperation are indeed very appreciated.
This is just the beginning, your views and commentaries on the exhibition will no doubt redefine what our future approach and works will be.
We appreciate you all for honouring this invitation to be part of our history.
The Architect must not be made an endangered species.
